Value of a cast iron bath

Hi I'm clearing out a house I've brought and have a 1960s cast iron bath... What's the scrap value of it please as selling it and don't want to be swindled thank you

Cast at Simms last I was there was a few pence higher than light steel and was 20p/kg This will be lower now though and probably around 15p/kg. Given that a standard cast bath weighs somewhere around 130kg this will give you a value of approx £20. It's not going to make you rich but somethings better than nothing. However, if it is freestanding and in good condition you will get much more than this sold for reuse.

The advantage with cast is that it snaps like a twig when you sledgehammer it, so I'd beat seven shades out of it so it can fit into something smaller.

usually get about £10.00 for a bath

Don't forget the value of the brass fittings on a cast iron bath. If you have a look at this thread you'll see I got nearly 6kg of brass from one cast iron bath and the matching ceramic sink. That's an easy £15 worth of brass from the bath and sink combined.

So, something like £15 for the cast iron, and about £10 quid for the brass from the bath.
